Cookie policy
Before the planks: This site contains affiliate links. We may earn a commission if you follow a link and make a booking/purchase or download, at no extra cost to you.
Gainetica's cookies, sorted by purpose, with the off switch for each.
Cookies in two sentences
A cookie, like other browser storage, is a tiny file a website leaves with your browser. Gainetica keeps their number low and groups them into three kinds.
The three kinds
| Group | Purpose | When it runs | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Holds your consent setting and keeps pages loading properly. | Always active | Up to a year |
| Analytics | Tallies visits and page openings anonymously. | Only after you opt in | No longer than 26 months |
| Advertising / affiliate | Helps a partner programme match a hotel booking to gainetica. | Only after you opt in; blocked under GPC | Set by each partner, often around 90 days |
Global Privacy Control
Browsers with Global Privacy Control switched on get no advertising or affiliate cookies from gainetica, and that holds even after a click on Accept All.
Switching your setting
Reopen the preferences with the button just below, or with the Manage cookies control in every footer, and change any toggle except Necessary. Wiping this site's storage in your browser also clears the setting, so the bar returns on your next visit.
