The data keeper

Personal data gathered on gainetica.com is controlled by Harrah's Atlantic City Operating Company, LLC, 777 Harrah's Boulevard, Atlantic City, NJ 08401. Send privacy questions to privacy@gainetica.com.

Data we receive

  • Connection details: your IP address and the approximate place (city or region) it points to, the browser's user agent string, device category, the referring page and which pages were opened.
  • Your consent setting, kept inside your browser.
  • Whatever you write to us: name, reply address, subject area and the note itself.
  • A referral marker: only when advertising/affiliate cookies are allowed, a code that ties a hotel booking back to a visit on gainetica.

Uses of that data

  • Keep gainetica online and guard it against abuse (our legitimate interest).
  • Analytics, on consent: aggregate counts of which notes get read.
  • Marketing and affiliate attribution, on consent: a partner programme matches a booking to gainetica and pays commission.
  • Writing back when you contact the desk (legitimate interest, or a step you asked for).

Who else sees it

Hosting and analytics suppliers handle data for us under contract. With your consent, affiliate and partner networks receive referral markers so they can track bookings that start here. Click through to a hotel and that hotel's privacy rules apply from then on. Gainetica does not sell personal data for cash. Some suppliers work from abroad, including from the United States; for those transfers gainetica leans on approved contract terms (the EU model clauses) whenever regulation calls for them.

How long it stays

Raw server logs: no more than 90 days. Aggregated analytics: no more than 26 months. Correspondence: removed 24 months after the latest exchange, unless a legal duty says otherwise. The consent setting in your browser lasts 12 months at most, or until you wipe site storage.

GDPR and UK GDPR rights

Under the GDPR and the UK GDPR you may view the data we keep, get it amended or erased; restrict how it is used; or receive it in a portable file. You may also challenge processing we base on legitimate interest, and pull back consent whenever you like; earlier processing stays lawful. Complaints may also be lodged with your national privacy watchdog. To use any of these rights, write to privacy@gainetica.com.

Rights for California residents

California's CCPA, together with the CPRA amendments, lets residents learn which categories of personal information gainetica collects, uses and discloses; have it deleted or corrected; say no to its sale, and to its being passed on for ads tailored across other sites and apps; and restrict the use of sensitive personal information, which we do not set out to collect. Using a right never leads to worse treatment. Choosing Reject All, switching off the advertising toggle or browsing with Global Privacy Control enabled is treated as an opt-out of sharing. An authorised agent may act for you.

Younger visitors

Gainetica is written for adults. We never set out to gather personal data from people under 18, and if a minor's details reach us anyway, tell the privacy inbox and they will be erased.

Any revision updates the Last revised entry beside the page title. A bigger change gets a short note on the home page too.
